An introduction

I am an historian of modern Europe specializing in the history of modern Britain and its empire.  My current research explores the changing place of Christianity in English society and culture after the Second World War.

I teach in the History and Literature program at Harvard University.  I previously taught at Wheaton College as the Brown-Wheaton Faculty Fellow in History.  I earned my PhD in History from Brown University in 2013.
